- I have been a young Mama and an older Mama. I have been a homebirthing Mama and a 3 time c-sectioned Mama. I am very cutting edge and very old fashioned. I am married to my high school sweetheart and we have five children whom we homeschool with a very eclectic approach. I am a reformed closed-minded/ know-it-all AP/granola snoot who doesn't play those Mommy Wars anymore. I am first and foremost a feminist kindred spirit and friend to mothers, with a penchant for all things colorful and human and real. I am an interesting character and so are you. You will not like everything I have to say but I hope you visit often and can find something useful or good or true out of my writings.

Thank you...I am so glad to see you back...this is really, really horrible. Terrifying, really, being this sick with these kids all here and most of them sick, too. Its like the blind leading the blind, very wrong and very scary. I dont know what the lesson is or the punchline, but it is just really scary. Its not like I could or would hire some teenager to come sit her and take care of us all when we are this sick, nor could I afford that--
Im just really scared at this situation we are in right now. I paid 60 bucks for me and Casey to go to doctors and another 20 for our medicines and so far they arent working at all.

I've been hearing about these weird ass-kicking illnesses going around. I'm still getting over a really awful sinus "thing" severe headaches for 5 days..made me so dizzy I fell down the stairs! Thankfully I had no baby in my arms at the time. Now I'm on either day 5 or 6 of gross goop and water coming out of my right eye. Still, I'm better off than you by far. Hang in there as much as you can.
